Ever been addicted to something? Can you guess my addiction? I’ll give you a second…. If you said anything besides coffee, you would be wrong! Ok, there might be a couple of other things but this is the big one.
I have that cup (or three) that most normal folks have every morning. But many times I also find myself drinking coffee at night – around 11 PM or later. Is that strange? Some may call it a problem, I call it a lifestyle. MINE.
I’m constantly on the lookout for good coffee shops to check out that are open early, late and anytime in between. There is nothing worse than having a craving for something and not having a place to get it. Ok, there is one thing worse – paying too much for a cup of beans that tastes burnt.
Since I have become something of a connoisseur of coffee and coffee shops, I thought I would share some of my favorites in the next few months.
First up – Verve Coffee. I’ve been hearing about this spot for awhile. It’s in downtown LA near the Arts District. The company is based in Santa Cruz, and there are now two locations in LA.

On my first visit, I went with a classic latte and it didn’t disappoint. And even though it’s in one of the busiest parts of the city, it felt secluded with some serious nature vibes outside… I’ll be going back.
Anybody have a coffee shop they want me to visit, or do you have a favorite coffee? Share it with me… and I will keep sharing my faves with you. — Gabe
